Mark Splaine, MD, MS, Managing Director of EduHealth LLC, led a half-day conference entitled "Innovations in Research on Improving Safety, Quality and Value in Healthcare" at the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.  The conference was jointly sponsored by AcademyHealth and the Academy for Healthcare Improvement.  Keynote speakers included Frank Davidoff, MD (The Dartmouth Institute), Beth Kosiak, PhD (Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute), Dennis Scanlon, PhD (Penn State University), Lynn Soban, PhD, MPH, RN (West Los Angeles VA), Rebecca Miltner, PhD, RN (University of Alabama at Birmingham).

June 1, 2015 -- QSEN Institute Opens 2nd MOOC on Quality Improvement

The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses Institute began its second offering of the MOOC entitled "Take the Lead on Healthcare Quality Improvement" on June 1st.  This course presents the concepts and processes of quality improvement (QI) and the importance of QI in improving patient outcomes. Its aim is to enhance the competence of working healthcare professionals to lead and participate in interprofessional healthcare teams that are focused on quality improvement.  The course runs through July 14th.

January 23, 2015 -- EduHealth Managing Director teaches in Sweden

Mark Splaine, MD, MS, Managing Director of EduHealth LLC, completed a series of lectures and interactions with students in the Leadership for Value-Based Health Care course in Jonkoping, Sweden this week.  The course brought together clinicians and managers from throughout Sweden who were learning about ways to make the data in Swedish National Quality Registers more useful and available for ongoing improvement of care.  The course is directed by Johan Thor, MD, PhD, MPH and Jorgen Nordenstrom, MD, PhD.
